Lately I’ve been a bit busy working at school and fixing our latest smartphone app. The app is an interactive tour app for a place called Fjällbacka, mainly for children, and I think we’ve done a good job so far. It may sound quite boring with a “tour app” but it has some really nice elements: using augmented reality (AR) the user will unlock educational slideshows with audio that will hint about where to find the next spot in the tour. Every audio part is part of a story too, which makes it more exciting. I really hope the children will find it fun, at least I think I would’ve. We also changed our company name to Mobile Storytelling AB now since that name is more fitting considering what we do.
Here are some screenshots from it (I love the work by our graphic artist Emil Kanter!):
I’m also making progress with my college job: I was a bit nervous at first tutoring and holding seminars but now I actually find it quite fun. The experience is very rewarding.
Moreover, the flight tickets to Osaka have been bought: the 3rd of April I’m off and I’ll be back on the 28th of June. The apartment where I will stay during my time in Osaka is, by the looks of it, quite nice too. It’s 16 m2 (I had nearly 9 m2 when I lived in Tokyo) and I have my own kitchenette and bathroom (though of course, very small). It isn’t that expensive, I get internet from the first day and it’s only 25 min from school (walk + train) and I don’t have to change train like I had to do while in Tokyo. I feel like a queen already! So thrilled!
